Exploring a new area can be done in so many ways and while we highly recommend doing it by campervan – there are also some benefits to adding some backcountry side trips in that are done under your own power. Whether you’re hiking, canoeing, or bike-packing the extra effort can result in getting away from the crowd and tapping into nature in a really special way. Back in 2014 I (Jenn) did a 3 day trip down Maligne Lake by canoe and absolutely loved it. When I saw that some friends of ours, Jenna and Pete (that are wonderful story tellers in picture and video form), had explored it last September – I asked Jenna to share a bit about it.
